The Sneaker of the Week #8

Hi everybody! Today, it ‘s the Sneaker of the Week #8. But, don’t worry, if you mist the previous one you can go and check the post here! Moreover, if you want to see all the post for the Sneaker of the Week saga, you can go here and enjoy the page.

Today, I would like to present you a Saucony model: the WEST NYC X SAUCONY SHADOW 6000 « FRESH WATER ». You can go and check online the website of West NYC here. As you can see in the name of the shoe, the theme of this collaboration is water but, in reality the real one is fishing. The main colours of the shoe have been chosen to remember the great outdoors and the background that you can find when you go fishing. The upper of the Saucony is made of two different brown leathers and a tumbled nubuck to represent the terrain that you can encounter in the nature. The white perforated leather is here to contrast the shoe and the turquoise to evoke fresh water that you can find in a lake. There is a grip tape on the heel to remember the “no skid” matters found on boats. To push the detail, there is a cork insole to remember the material found on the handle of a fishing rod. To finish, you can see the logo of West NYC on the tongue of the shoe.

This shoe is awesome, really significant, meaningful and truly harmonious. I totally love it! And you? Do you like this Saucony model? So guys don’t hesitate to write a comment to share your opinion, to like and share this article and, above all, see you next Sunday for The Sneaker of the Week #9!

The Sneaker of the Week #7

With a day late, I would like to present you the Sneaker of the Week #7! Don’t worry, if you mist the Sneaker of the Week #6, you can go and check the article here.

For this week, I will talk about the release, in a new colourway, of the Air Jordan 2 retro low “gym red”. Indeed, the brand brought back the Air Jordan 2 model with this red colour.  And it is a success: even if the intensity of the red is important, it is not really important because there is a harmony on this shoe. The upper of this Air Jordan 2 is made with premium scale-like leather and with a synthetic hell piece. As additional features and colour touches, there are turquoise hits on the insole and outsole. Moreover, there is the old logo of the brand Air Jordan on the tongue. To finish this retro shoe, the Air-sole unity is presented for comfort and an almost perfect cushioning. We can say that Air Jordan has reinvented perfectly the 1987 model.

I hope that you have enjoyed this post. Don’t hesitate to like, to comment if you like or not this shoe, to share and, above all, see you next Sunday for the Sneaker of the Week #8!

The Sneaker of the Week #6

Sunday means Sneaker of the Week! So, we are here today for the Sneaker of the Week #6. Don’t worry, if you mist the Sneaker of the Week #5, you can see and enjoy the article here.

Today, I would like to present you the Nike Air Max Zero Tinker’s Sketch. Why Tinker’s Sketch? Because this shoe is inspired by the original sketches of the shoe made by him. Normally this shoe should be the first Air Max created but the sketches of this shoe disappeared for three decades. So, we can say that this shoe is the beginning of the legendary design of the Air Max. Of course, the model looks like modern but it’s totally inspired by the sketches. It releases in white/yellow colours. This model is limited and released for the Air Max day. You can recognize the famous Air Max sole and touch. This model is more sportswear but it’s perfect. The colourways chosen is in perfect harmony and perfect for the spring! If you like this shoe, there are websites which sell it: Nike, JD, etc.

I hope that you have appreciated the design of the new Air Max Zero. Don’t hesitate do like, comment and share this article and, above all, see you next Sunday for the Sneaker of the Week #7.

Air Max Day 2016

Yesterday was the Air Max Day guys! This year, Nike celebrates the 29th anniversary of one of the most famous sneaker’s model: the Nike Air Max! For this birthday, NIKE offers us different special events and tries to transform the Air Max Day in an international event! What are the events about? How is the Air Max born? What are my favourite models? I will talk about it in this post.

The Air Max Con

This year, the American brand chose to organize some conferences in three different cities in the world: New York, Tokyo and Hong-Kong. The aims of these conferences are to expand the event to a large celebration for the Air Max and to celebrate and learn the heritage, design and innovation history of the famous bubbles. It is a perfect way to communicate and to be close with the public. For each places, Nike made a special design for the building to personalize this event and to show the “innovation level” of the brand. These conferences will be presented by the SNKRS app.

Vote for your Air Max!

Another interesting things, the American brand have offered the chance to the Nike’s customers and addicts to vote to bring back an Air Max model. Almost everyone has a souvenir with an Air Max pair. Indeed, there was the possibility to vote for our favourite retro model. And the winner is: The Air Max 1 Atmos Elephant! This model will be release for the Air Max Day in 2017! Thank you NIKE for this beautiful idea.

Collaborate with HTM

For the first time ever, the HTM collaboration (the most prodigious partnership of all time for NIKE) unleashes NIKEiD custom palettes for three iconic Air Max: the Air Max 95 H ID by Hiroshi Fujiwara, the Air Max 1 T ID by Tinker Hatfield and the Air Max 2014 Flyknit M ID by Mark Parker.

Let’s just talk about the HTM collaboration. What is HTM? It is the three initials of each members of the collaboration: Hiroshi Fujiwara (creator of the brand Fragment Design), Tinker Hatfield the legendary NIKE’s designer (He created the first Air Max and he is the creator the bubbles in the sole! How? He was visiting the “Centre de Beaubourg” in Paris and he was amazed by the way of the building highlight its interior spaces making them visible from outside: that’s how the bubbles were created) and Mark Parker (designer and CEO of NIKE). This collaboration was born in 2002 and they created together 32 products. So, we are truly lucky to have the opportunity to customize a Air Max pair with their palettes! Don’t hesitate to go online!

Introducing new shoes

For this special day, Nike decided to release new models for our biggest pleasure! As I said you before it is a very special day! The American brand releases, today three new models: the Nike Air Max ULTRA M, the Nike Air Max 90 ULTRA SUPERFLY T and the Nike Air Max LD-ZERO H.

Third position: The Air Max 2. The shoe is different by the form, the sole and the style. That’s why I like this Air Max model.

Second position: The Air Max 1 USA. This model is beautiful and really customized with the USA flag’s colours. I truly love it and the way in which NIKE made it!

First position: The Air Max 1 B Atmos Safari. Definitely my favourite! You can go and check the article that I have already written about this shoe here. Everything is perfect here: colours, matters, sole, harmony, etc. To me, it’s the best shoe that Nike has ever made.

Collaborations in the Sneaker's industry

Today, I would like to talk to you about collaboration in the word of the Sneakers. This notion of work is really appreciated, particularly in the fashion industry where you can find a lot of collaborations. Of course, it is the same in the Sneaker industry. But why there are a huge number of collaborations? How it is possible to know if the collaboration will be famous and “out of stock” after the release date? Moreover, what are the collaborations that I love the most? I will talk about it in my today’s post.

It is normal, for a sneaker company to ask people for collaborations. You can make collaborations between retailers, with famous or inspirational clothing labels, with artists or famous celebrities, with sneaker brands, with sportspeople, etc. When brands ask external sources to work with them, it is because they want to celebrate something (anniversary of a model, special events), to revitalise a model or to change completely the model design. It is a real need for the brand to have new inspirations, new ways of thinking and that is why collaborations exist. When two people works together, they can come up with better ideas than they would on their own. So, the inspiration, the renewal and the special events are why the collaborations exist in the Sneaker world.

But, you have to know that all the existed collaborations are not a success or will not be a best seller of course. Sometimes, some of them are … weird. To create a perfect collaboration, you have to regroup trend elements: engaged artist, popular model of shoe, experienced and creative clothes shops. You cannot do collaboration with everyone. You have to find a perfect design, a relation between the colour on the shoe and something new that never appeared on the model before. There are a lot of things to think and to design but the results will be good for sure. Moreover, you can choose to collaborate with popular singers or sportspeople: it is one the best way to meet success because the brand that wants to collaboration can benefit from its image and from the celebrity of its collaborator. I will use one example to demonstrate you this idea
: Pharrell Williams. I can talk about the collaboration between Adidas Originals and the American producer and singer. Why the collaboration between them worked perfectly: Pharrell is a huge influent artist both in the music and fashion world. Moreover, he gave to the Superstar a total new look and colourways. It is simple but totally efficient. That's why Adidas asked Pharrell Williams for a new one (you can check the article here). People bought the shoe because Pharrell designed them. If he had designed Nike shoes people would buy its Nike shoe.

Now, I would like to show you some collaboration that I particularly love. I think I will present you three different collaborations.

Beam X Footpatrol X Saucony GRID 8000

First, I will talk about an international collaboration between London’s Footpatrol and the Japan’s BEAM. I love it! It is beautiful, isn’t it? This upper of the shoe is made of orange multicolour knitted textile and white premium suede for the rest. There is a special tag on the tongue mentioned the Beam’s logo and the sentence “Only in Tokyo”. To finish, the sole is perfect and really different than the others. I particularly loved the sawtooth design of the sole. It is a pleasure to see a perfect shoe made without obscure colours and themes.

Kendrick Lamar X Reebok Ventilator

I love this collaboration too. First of all, it is because Kendrick Lamar participates to the collaboration. I love this artist and the things and ideas that he wants to transmit. Moreover, I love the ventilator model of Reebok so it is obvious that I love this shoe. The upper of the shoe is constituted of white cream upper and light colours. Finally, there is a special tag on the tongue mentioned “Kendrick Lamar”. It is a perfect result.

Adidas YEEZY Boost 350

To finish, I was sure that I would talk about Adidas. Of course, the collaboration between Adidas and Pharrell Williams is a really good one that I appreciate but I will talk about the collaboration with the famous rapper, producer, designer, entrepreneur, and all the words finishing by “er”: Kanye West! It is more than a collaboration because Kanye West designed them entirely and that is why is totally new (and rare in the same time)! Worldwide recognized, this model is one of the best commercial successes of all time. If you want to know more about the Yeezy in general you can go and check one of my article about it here

I hope that you have enjoyed this post and that you know more about collaborations now. Don’t hesitate to comment, like and share this article and, above all, see you for the next post!

Future is here!

Guys, I am happy to tell that the future is coming! Who talk about Marty McFly? It is not the Nike Mag but the Nike HyperAdapt 1.0! The first shoe with an “adaptive-lacing” system will be created and sold during this summer! It is a huge progress in the technology for the sport world.

Now, how it works? There is a captor in the shoe which can recognize when you put your heel on the shoe. At this moment, this captor will initiate the lacing system. Of course, there are two hidden buttons that allow you to tighten or loosen the lacing pressure. There is not a lot of information about this shoe directly coming from the future. We don’t know the weight, the price, the lifetime and the comfort of the shoe.We just know that this shoe will be release with three kind of colourways. But, unfortunately for the sneakers addict, this shoe will only be available for the Nike+ members. I put a video of presentation for you just bellow and you will be able to see the appearance of the future Nike HyperAdapt 1.0 with some pictures provided by Nike. Innovation will never stop, and Nike shows us the way!
