Air Max Day 2016

Yesterday was the Air Max Day guys! This year, Nike celebrates the 29th anniversary of one of the most famous sneaker’s model: the Nike Air Max! For this birthday, NIKE offers us different special events and tries to transform the Air Max Day in an international event! What are the events about? How is the Air Max born? What are my favourite models? I will talk about it in this post.

The Air Max Con

This year, the American brand chose to organize some conferences in three different cities in the world: New York, Tokyo and Hong-Kong. The aims of these conferences are to expand the event to a large celebration for the Air Max and to celebrate and learn the heritage, design and innovation history of the famous bubbles. It is a perfect way to communicate and to be close with the public. For each places, Nike made a special design for the building to personalize this event and to show the “innovation level” of the brand. These conferences will be presented by the SNKRS app.

Vote for your Air Max!

Another interesting things, the American brand have offered the chance to the Nike’s customers and addicts to vote to bring back an Air Max model. Almost everyone has a souvenir with an Air Max pair. Indeed, there was the possibility to vote for our favourite retro model. And the winner is: The Air Max 1 Atmos Elephant! This model will be release for the Air Max Day in 2017! Thank you NIKE for this beautiful idea.

Collaborate with HTM

For the first time ever, the HTM collaboration (the most prodigious partnership of all time for NIKE) unleashes NIKEiD custom palettes for three iconic Air Max: the Air Max 95 H ID by Hiroshi Fujiwara, the Air Max 1 T ID by Tinker Hatfield and the Air Max 2014 Flyknit M ID by Mark Parker.

Let’s just talk about the HTM collaboration. What is HTM? It is the three initials of each members of the collaboration: Hiroshi Fujiwara (creator of the brand Fragment Design), Tinker Hatfield the legendary NIKE’s designer (He created the first Air Max and he is the creator the bubbles in the sole! How? He was visiting the “Centre de Beaubourg” in Paris and he was amazed by the way of the building highlight its interior spaces making them visible from outside: that’s how the bubbles were created) and Mark Parker (designer and CEO of NIKE). This collaboration was born in 2002 and they created together 32 products. So, we are truly lucky to have the opportunity to customize a Air Max pair with their palettes! Don’t hesitate to go online!

Introducing new shoes

For this special day, Nike decided to release new models for our biggest pleasure! As I said you before it is a very special day! The American brand releases, today three new models: the Nike Air Max ULTRA M, the Nike Air Max 90 ULTRA SUPERFLY T and the Nike Air Max LD-ZERO H.

My top 3

Now, I would like to present you a little TOP 3 of my favourite Air Max model ever. I chose three different models

Third position: The Air Max 2. The shoe is different by the form, the sole and the style. That’s why I like this Air Max model.

Second position: The Air Max 1 USA. This model is beautiful and really customized with the USA flag’s colours. I truly love it and the way in which NIKE made it!

First position: The Air Max 1 B Atmos Safari. Definitely my favourite! You can go and check the article that I have already written about this shoe here. Everything is perfect here: colours, matters, sole, harmony, etc. To me, it’s the best shoe that Nike has ever made.
